The 2nd Los Angeles SUR:biennial is a multi-venue exhibition focusing on artists influenced and/or impacted by cultures from south of the US-border. Aiming to expand Los Angeles’ importance as a critical epicenter in today’s decentralized art world, three venues on the margins of LA's vibrant art scene were chosen to host the exhibit: the Torrance Art Museum in the South-Bay and Rio Hondo & Cerritos Colleges along the eastern 605 corridor.

The diverse work spread throughout the multiple venues - ranging from video installations, photography, large-scale sculpture, site-specific installations, social interventions, and performances - demand a shift in perceptions of identity and cultural belonging(s), exploring what it means, and what it takes, to be a Latino/a artist today.
