“Put A Bird On It”
Curated by Aaron Jasinski

November 6 – December 7
Reception: Saturday, November 9 from 6-10pm

ArtHatch and Distinction Gallery are delighted to present “Put A Bird On It”, curated by Aaron Jasinski, featuring a collection of art by 30 artists from around the globe.  Artists include Edith Lebeau, Dave MacDowell, Matt Linares, JoKa, Aaron Jasinski and more.  Using the ever popular and comical expression “Put A Bird on It” a spin-off of IFC’s Portlandia episode, artists will interpret this theme in their own style of art.  The Opening Reception with Live Music will be held on Saturday, November 9 from 6-10pm. Complimentary Stone beer and wine will be served to guests.

Aaron Jasinski’s (artist and curator) paintings have shown across the US, and internationally. He also illustrates children's books, album covers, and creates electronic music. Aaron grew up in in a family of musicians and the love of music is a major influence in his visual art. His paintings often features musical, pop-culture, and nostalgic references peppered with social commentary and whimsical creatures (think morose hipsters mingling with monkeys in space suits), utilizing a Technicolor palette. Aaron resides near Seattle Washington with his wife and 4 children.

The exhibition will run from November 6 – December 7, 2013

ArtHatch is a 7000 square foot building which houses the front gallery: exhibitions changing monthly, "The Alley," featuring new and previous works from over 75 artists, the teen room featuring artwork by 6 local teens, 14 artist studios, ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet, featuring the work of over 28 local artists, and "The Lounge", containing 8 walls featuring local artists.
