Award winning pastel artist, Melanie Stimmell, will take you through the exciting process of creating a dramatic portrait in soft pastel. Learning to see skin tones in a different way and to extend your visual perception of color, will bring your portraits to a new level.
An intermediate level of drawing required. Students will be provided with a starter kit of one box of 48 soft pastels. Other pastels will be suggested but not required.

A Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and the only woman to have won the title of Maestro in both Italy and Germany, Melanie Stimmell specializes in bringing old master's Renaissance artistry to the modern vision of her clients through dramatic asphalt paintings in soft pastel. For the past 11 years Melanie has been creating soft pastel masterpieces and leading workshops for street painting festivals, cultural and
children's charity events around the world. In addition, Melanie has been teaching children in Southern California through the Los Angeles Music Center and the Orange County Performing Arts Center for the past 5 years.
