Alter-Ego - Auction and Exhibition
The Foundation for Art Resources (FAR) announces a call for entries for Alter-Ego, an exhibition and auction. This upcoming annual benefit will be held at MorYork Gallery in Highland Park on May 12, 2007.
An alter-ego can be an extension of ourselves, or it can be a means to experience an alien identity. It can be an excuse to create new work, or it can take responsibility for our more risky decisions and well-intentioned mistakes. For this exhibition and benefit auction, FAR is looking for works of art created by your alter-ego, or that address the concept of an alter-ego.
We would like to invite you or your alter-ego to submit a work of art for this exhibition and auction along with a brief explanatory text. All works of art from selected artists will be accepted. There are no size restrictions, but please know that the gallery is modestly sized. Submissions must be portable and ready to hang or display. Video and performance art will also be considered.
To participate in this event please send an email with your name, your alter-ego’s name, and a jpeg of the art work with explanatory text. Please indicate the minimum bid. For the auction, committment to donate work should be made by March 1, 2007. Please email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
