Five Lines. Digital video and live musical performance, color, sound; 2012; 16 min.

A spot of sunlight moves over five, hand-drawn lines, transforming the screen into a subtly shifting musical score.

OPENING. 16mm film, color, sound and silent, with live musical accompaniment; 2007; 25 min.

OPENING reveals the city in the landscape and the landscape in the city. The images come from in-between spaces: off-ramps and back alleys. Instead of stitching these unlike things together, the cuts create space and emphasize distance. Three musicians playing very clear, quiet, long tones accompany the film. The indeterminacy of the music provides a stark contrast to the fixed nature of the film print.

Two Suns. 16mm film and live musical performance, color, sound; 2013; 2.5 min.

A new version of Five Lines for 16mm film.

Veils (work in progress). 16mm, color, silent; 2013; 15 min.

A hand-made, paint soaked film, allowing evaporation, dust, crystallization, mold, and more to inform the image.
