If you have always wanted to learn how to draw and paint, or wish to improve upon your
current skill level, this unique two day intensive workshop will bring you to a new level of
understanding the basics.
Day 1
Learn basic drawing and perspective skills.
Develop an understanding of light source and shade.
Transfer completed drawing to canvas.
Day 2
Learn basic oil painting trechiniques, color mixing,
brush and rag techniques.
Canvas , paint and a minimum of 3 brushes are required. Studio 528 students may purchase
supplies at a discounted rate when purchased from Raw Materials in Downtown LA. Drawing
supplies will be provided.
Trained as a painter, Deborah Martin recieved her BFA from the Museum School of Fine Arts and BS in
Art Education from Tufts University respectively. Her works in progress include a documentation of
American iconography in Polaroid and the transformation of these Polaroid's into oil paintings. Her
mural and restoration work can be seen on the ceiling of St. Vibiana's Cathedral and throughout the
Spring Arts Tower located in the Historical core of Downtown, LA. She is a founding member and
Director of the Spring Arts Collective Gallery, located on Gallery Row in the heart of downtown Los
Angeles. Deborah’s work as a painter is soon to be featured in New American Paintings Studio Visit
Magazine due out in October 2008.
