Cella Gallery is pleased to present “Point of Departure” an exhibit that showcases a formidable group of up-and-coming artists that are poised to take LA by storm. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 7-11 pm with many of the artists in attendance.
Without the restraints of an overarching theme, “Point of Departure” allows each artist the opportunity to show their personal vision and most current direction in their work, whether that be in the subject matter, technique or style. The show includes a dynamic selection of work by diverse artists including Nicole Bruckman, Jeaneen Carlino, Samir EVOL, Ken Garduno, Jenna Gibson, Brooke Grucella, Jason Krause, Ohgie, Sarah Stieber and features new paintings by Arizona artist Wiley Wallace.
About featured artist Wiley Wallace:
Wiley Wallace is an Arizona based artist that has received numerous awards and invitations since earning his MFA from UCSB, including the Levitan Fellowship. His artwork has been shown throughout the southern United States and was first seen in Los Angeles at Cella Gallery in 2009. Since then his work and his resume has grown exponentially. His new work is inhabited by perfectly rendered figures experiencing impossibly beautiful environments that hold a threat of danger and create a fascinating tension for the viewer. Cella Gallery is honored to be showing his new collection of paintings in “Point of Departure” and a collection of drawings in the upcoming show “Paper & Pulp” opening later this year on July 27th.
