> DESCRIPTION
From newly discovered young artists such as JONATHAN EDELHUBER to widely
admired figures on the gallery scene like JUSTIN BUA, SHEPARD FAIREY and
GARY BASEMAN, Carmichael's ART LOFT 2007 will introduce the tastemakers of
Los Angeles to the hottest artists around. The show will be open to the
public throughout April. There will be a panel featuring Justin Bua and
several of the other artists on April 14 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM and a
closing fundraiser to benefit GenArt on April 26th.

"I believe that we are witnessing one of the largest movements the art world
has ever seen. This contemporary art movement, often described as "lowbrow",
"underground" or "new fine art" is truly unprecedented in terms of size,
scope, and mass appeal. The internet has enabled members of this community
to connect and communicate at speeds yesterday's artists could never have
imagined. The process of development and discovery has been changed forever.

"The power of subcultures, which has so obviously shaped the worlds of
music, movies and fashion for countless years, now presses a firm stamp on
the fine arts as a new breed of artists comes of age simultaneously with a
new generation of consumers who have become financially stable, are
purchasing homes and desire to decorate them with things that speak to THEIR
experiences.

"For me, there is nothing greater than following the ones and zeros from one
to another until I discover something new that I have never seen before, but
speaks to me and those around me. My goal is to identify the new voices in
contemporary art whether they are working on the streets of Romania, the
galleries of Paris or at home in Arkansas and bring them to Los Angeles.
This show includes work by some of the strongest artists I have found from
France, Brazil, Israel, Canada, the UK, Japan, Portugal, Greece, Spain,
Romania, the Ukraine and of course the USA."
