> DESCRIPTION

Director Jürgen Schadeberg, who met Ernest Cole at DRUM magazine,  sheds light on his fellow photographer in this beautiful film that reveals how Cole’s art was a shining symbol of anti-apartheid activism. Weaving rare video footage of Cole together with contemporary interviews of his family and associates, the film tells the story of a courageous artist who―at great personal cost―crusaded to alert the outside world to the injustices of his society.
