> DESCRIPTION

The abstract paintings of Keisho Okayama are meditative and soulful.  His work is deeply introspective, yet conveys universal experiences.  And, while his work is entirely modern, it speaks of the ancient.  The artist paints on unstretched canvas using stains of color that interact with sweeping brushstrokes, smudges, and dabs of pigment.  His imagery has a misty dreaminess and an inner glow.  This is thoughtful and serious work, courageous, joyful, and very human.
