Sangria Fine Arts

Sangria presents "True Blue" a group invitational of over 60 artists from New York, Los Angeles, and Europe in celebration of a year of curatorial projects inspired by friendships that came out of large art exhibitions such as Mat Gleason’s “Tel-Art-Phone” and Doug Harvey’s “Chain Letter” - art exhibitions that signify an era of open innovation. As creative pockets of the arts become more socially integrated through online media like Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblir, Meetup, and blogs – fine artists have been invited to interpret what it means to be “true blue.” Each participant was encouraged to invite a loyal artist-friend whose work they respect. Artists have been allowed to take creative liberty, and explore the color blue as they wish within the confines of small scale work. Blue may calm you, sedate you, quench a thirst, aid in intuition, and represent cleanliness, purity, serenity, or perhaps invoke spiritual or melancholic states of mind. The color may represent a historical significance. In the curating of larger group exhibitions a serendipitous play of patternicity emerges.
