The dA Center for the Arts is proud to present Boom on exhibit December 8 through December 29, 2012. Curated by HALFartist, Boom displays the work of the Los Angeles based young visual artists promotion platform. The dA will host its opening reception on December 8, 2012, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Boom breaks the border of nationality, and unites Los Angeles artists and their foreign born counterparts as the first generation to come of age during the information age. Artists from the United States, China and Korea are no longer restricted by the traditional influence of geography, and have instead, absorbed artistic inspirations from all over the world while still remembering the influence of their home countries. Curated by the organization’s founders, this is their first American exhibition, and includes a combination of paintings, photography, videos and video installations. Participating artists are: Auspicious Art Studio, Sookyung Bae, Shanshan Chen, Yining He, Zheng Huang, Amy Ling Hyngh, Nate Little, Julie Orr, Denny Yang, Jingyi Yang.

Founded by Tianyu Xiao and Wan Wang in 2011, Los Angeles based HALFartist is an artist launching platform engaged in promoting young visual artists works and lifestyles. Focusing on artists born after 1980, the organization aims to assist in connecting young visual artists with a variety of opportunities for collaborating with media, commercial brands, galleries, and various art organizations across the world. Past exhibitions have been shown at the Beijing 798 Art Zone in 2011, and the Pantocrator Gallery in Barcelona in 2012.
