> DESCRIPTION

The 60-something soul singer Charles Bradley was discovered performing as a James Brown impersonator late in a very difficult life. A fateful encounter with the soul revivalists of Daptone Records transported him from an uncertain future and paired him with Thomas Brenneck of the Menahan Street Band. Backed by the deep funk of the Menahan Street Band (who open the show with an all-instrumental set), the “Screaming Eagle of Soul” will move you to the core. (76 words)
