A solo exhibition by Amandalynn Exhibition Dates: August 2 - 24, 2008 Opening Reception: Saturday, August 2, 8PM - Midnight
Many heads will move when California-based Amandalynn showcases her artwork in move A head at Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art, transforming the space into a Victorian-inspired hall of beautiful headless portraits and sculpted and cast resin cameos, vases and jewelry. The inventive artist will also create a site-specific installation, collaborating with Los Angeles floral designer Renee Fontana to style an organic, colorful, and tactile juxtaposition of her artwork. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, 2008, from 8pm - Midnight, with Amandalynn and Renee Fontana in attendance.
With artwork flavored with Amandalynn's elegant, vivacious style and the distinctive rhythm of the street framed with Renee Fontana's exotic floral extensions, these young women emphasize the symbiotic relationship between art, design, and nature. Having collaborated in the past, the two women take the expected gallery setting and fashion it into an all-new fanciful space with their unique and practiced artistic senses. The green of Amandalynn's most recognized artwork intertwines with Fontana's leafy designs resulting in a "fresh" presentation that is simply stunning.

She takes her deep knowledge of this craft and applies it to her own artwork, creating an original approach to painting and sculpture. As a member of infamous West Coast graffiti crew, the Seventh Letter, Amandalynn is renowned for her murals of gorgeous, green-toned females, who lounge seductively on walls and doorways around San Francisco.
About Renee Fontana Renee Fontana applies her fifteen years of experience in floral design to create innovative designs for events, interiors, and live art displays. She delivers her vision to home installations, visual merchandising, intimate weddings, and large celebrity events.
About the Gallery
Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art exhibits international, emerging artists with backgrounds in street art, illustration, outsider art, and design. With an emphasis on creating an environment for contemporary artists to experiment and exhibit new directions of their work, Carmichael Gallery provides many of their artists their first U.S. group and solo exhibitions, quickly establishing artist growth and recognition in a global art marketplace and introducing eclectic cultural styles to collectors and audiences. After moving to Los Angeles in September 2006, husband and wife duo Seth and Elisa Carmichael began to curate shows in various locations around the city, frequently converting raw retail spaces, high-end luxury lofts, and other non-traditional spaces into alternative galleries. In August 2007, the co-curators secured a permanent space on La Brea Avenue in West Hollywood, CA, founding Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art.
The Carmichaels bring the raw, spontaneous aesthetic of a project space to their gallery, allowing for artist collaboration and community. Carmichael Gallery is located at 1257 N. La Brea Avenue, on the SW corner of La Brea and Fountain, West Hollywood, CA 90038. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and by appointment.
