> DESCRIPTION

Dr. Suzanne Onstine, Assistant Professor, Dept. of History, University of Memphis, will examine a nice private tomb on the West Bank of Luxor, Theban Tomb 16, was re-used by many private individuals over a 1000 year period, men and women alike.  As Dr. Onstine discusses the life cycle of this tomb, we learn about its various “inhabitants,” why it was reused, how often it was robbed, and why it was such a favorite spot.  Following three seasons of study here, Dr. Onstine will describe the layout of the tomb and what has been found from all the eras of its use.
