> DESCRIPTION

Five Thirty Three is proud to present, "Fall in, Fall out, Fall down, Get ready!" a new collaborative exhibition of visual artworks by the musical collaborative, OJO.

OJO is six independent thinkers who pursue individual interests yet converge to 'play' together.  Their work (or play) seeks to reach out to the public as they negotiate the hurdles of live audience injected performance.  For this project OJO will present individual visual works that are written, drawn, painted, constructed, erased, built, embossed, recalled, spoken, sung, conducted, engraved, poured, obliterated, sampled, looped, bombed, and peeled.

Joshua Aster

The axe-grinder guitarist constructs hybridized ink paintings of bit-stream geometrics with sharp-tongued washes

Brenna Youngblood

The organist composes collaged photographs and found materials with furious painterly expression into forces of nature

Chris Avitabile

The multi-instrumentalist scours the throwaway rock t-shirt gutter to re-animate past idols into alien forms very much the product our world

Justin Cole

The bassman holds a firm line of reduction creating graphite graphic sillouettes which splice classic albums with an allover abstracted space

Eamon Ore-Giron

The beat driver's field of vision includes anthropomorphic gouaches of sensitivity and a full spectrum palette to sear the retina

Moises Medina

The voice, the trumpet, the octopus, the wordsmith

The opening night event will be a simultaneous opening of OJO's visual work and include performances by Paper Legs from San Francisco, Collapsible Mammals, and OJO.
