Bringing together a bold array of artworks by seven contemporary San Diego and New York based artists, this exhibition examines the quest for and exploration of the ‘self.’ Viewers will explore the multitude of social confines that contribute to the development of personality and character through a diverse range of artwork including: drawing, sculpture, performance, mixed media installation, and video. These works probe the human state and inspire viewers to reflect on their own evolving identities. Exhibition artists include: David Adey, Cathy Begien, Alida Cervantes, Lea Dennis, Kelly Schnorr, Trish Stone and Melissa Cooke.
Meet artists in the exhibition and hear from the curator, Tara Smith, during the opening reception on Saturday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. The reception is free with museum admission and complimentary for OMA members, students and military.
