Bleicher Gallery is pleased to announce a group exhibition of fine art prints, "Print X Print," showing from June 15th to July 9th 2012.
“Print x Print” presents the development of concepts, narratives, technologies, and methodologies through printmaking in Contemporary and historical Modernist art. The spectrum of subject matter ranges from raising ecological and sociopolitical awareness, the human psyche, dreamscapes, popular culture, expressionistic portraiture, impressionistic landcapes and more. Techniques and mediums vary from the growing use of technology-driven digital image constructions to hands-on process oriented forms of traditional printmaking such as lithography, woodcut, or silk screen.
Featured works include: A 1960 signed color lithograph, Zephyr L’oiseau (Zephyr Bird) by Joan Miro; an archival pigment print of Mad Mom by Ann McCoy, which depicts a dream state portrait of the artist’s mother and spirit during her last years of life; a 2004 silkscreen of Tupac by Shepard Fairey and Shawn Mortensen; a 1943 woodcut Goi Dau (Hair Washing) by Tran VanCan, to name a few.
