Zask Gallery is pleased to announce a show of original works by local and world-renowned architects.
The show, “Breaking Convention” challenges the traditional notion (and misconception) that the art of architects would be “architectural.” Instead, this show offers a rare glimpse into the richness of the artistic life of architecture . The poetics of drawing, the compositions of collage and painting, computer renderings, even small objects and sculptural pieces – exemplify the true soul by which these artist-of-buildings visualize and operate. If anything binds these works beyond the affiliation to architecture, it is that there is no one thing, no one eye, no single sensibility. The work is a wide array, and a largely untapped mix of artists, fresh to the world, let alone to the SouthBay. Curated by Peggy Zask and Dora Epstein Jones.
