Step right up to gander at the fascinating display of curiosities conjured up by four "freakishly" talented artists; Apricot Mantle, Jon McNair, Zach Schoenbaum, and Jessica Ward. Each has created a new collection of work aimed to shock and amaze.

Discover exotic and fantastical worlds by McNair and Schoenbaum, witness the beautifully deformed nymphs from the mind of Ward, and succumb to fear as Mantle brings your worst nightmares to life with brilliant detail.

Open to the public, the gallery reception for Welcome to the Freak Show is from 7-10pm on Saturday, April 28. The exhibition will run until June 2, 2012. Regular Gallery Hours are Tues -  Sat, 11AM-5PM.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Apricot Mantle:
Taking inspiration from science fiction and horror B-movies, Mantle carefully stages intense scenes of terror and tragedy with vivid colors and cartoon realism. With a background in prop and set building, he utilizes special effect secrets and tricks to create unique and personalized frames that become extensions of the artwork.

Jon McNair:
An accomplished editorial illustrator, McNair’s clients include numerous magazines and publications such as Computer Arts, Elle Girl, and Hyphen Magazine. Working almost exclusively in black and white, McNair designs creatures and their environments rooted in myth and mysticism. In his new body of work, he continues to explore his cast of misunderstood, malevolent characters.

Zach Schoenbaum:
Adventure and epic journeys come to mind when viewing the imaginative paintings of Shoenbaum. Often venturing beyond the realm of reality, he creates magical characters that inhabit distant worlds of fantasy but with convincing realism.

Jessica Ward:
Drawing upon her dark past, Ward uses the simplicity of graphite to illustrate an unflinching look into the complex neurosis of young women faced with society’s ideals. Her statuesque heroines are riddled with disorders that decay at their allure, rendering them both beautiful yet repugnant.
