Painting the human figure is a bit of an anachronism in the contemporary art world. Painting LARGE figures is a statement of defiance. ArtShare Los Angeles is proud to present three contemporary artists who paint large, emotionally messy and questionably moral figurative compositions. Size does matter to these image makers, as bodies becomes mythological and even grotesque at in-your-face proportions. In contrast to the large works, each artist also presents small sketches, providing insight into their creative processes.
