ArtHatch and Distinction Gallery are excited to present a highly anticipated new show featuring the extraordinary work of Southern California artist Gabe Leonard, entitled "Black Magic Method ". It will deal with the undergound/underbelly in the history of our country from bank robbers to organized crime from the prohibition era. All works will be new and created specifically for this show. Limited edition giclees will also be available. Using figurative, cinematic inspired images, Leonard achieves an expressive and magical symbolism of iconic characters and personas. Gabe Leonard will be present for a meet and greet during the evening of the reception. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2011 from 6-10pm with Live Music, complimentary Stone Brewery Beer and wine for guests 21 years of age or older.
Originally starting out as a street artist on the boardwalk of Venice Beach, Gabe Leonard has gone on to participate in many of the country’s top art festivals and his work has been in gallery exhibits in New York, Los Angels, New Orleans, and Atlantic City. Leonard’s art can be found in private collections all over the U.S., Europe, New Zealand, Australia and parts of China. Leonard’s continues to live in Los Angeles and is often in his studio painting until the sun rises.

ArtHatch is a 7000 square foot building which houses the front gallery: exhibitions changing monthly, "The Alley," featuring new and previous works from over 75 artists, the teen room featuring artwork by 6 local teens, 14 artist studios, ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet, featuring the work of over 28 local artists, and "The Lounge", containing 8 walls featuring local artists. The front gallery features contemporary and cutting edge artwork.
A variety of art books, prints, and collectors dolls are now available for purchase.
