> DESCRIPTION

For two weeks from November 1 through November 16, join artists Saratoga Sake, Israel "Izze WST" Serrano, Pedro "DazeRoc" Medina, Jose "Bean" Venegas as they transform a 70 foot white wall into a site-specific mural for the Museum, inspired by our special exhibition Mexican Modern Painting from the Andrés Blaisten Collection and featuring homages to artists who are also represented in the Museum’s permanent collection.  This collaboration with Writerz Blok, a San Diego-based mural and graffiti group, will serve as an opportunity for the public to witness the creation of this mural and interact with contemporary artists.  Stop by in person or check back soon to find a link to a live shot of the mural wall. The artists will be working in the space each weeknight from 5-9 p.m.

The completed mural will be dedicated on Thursday, December 8.

Visit the Museum's page dedicated to the Writerz Blok mural, for more information about this collaborative project and to see images of the mural's progress.
