For his first solo show, Chris Avitabile scours the throwaway rock t-shirt gutter to re-animate past and present idols into alien forms very much the product of our world. 'Shine Your Heavenly Body Tonight' explores new ideas in how we mythologize our pop stars, playfully, and sometimes eerily fusing sculpture with remixed audio pieces to create new objects of extreme devotion.

Chris Avitabile is a musician and artist living in Los Angeles. His deeply layered cut and paste music draws on multi-instrumentation and a vast record collection as inspiration. His visual work shares the same practice of conjuring up contrasting arrangements, and reveals itself through drawing, painting and sculpture. He also is a contributor to the musical collaborative OJO and teaches experimental sound workshops for children.
