This summer, Bleicher/Golightly Gallery opens its doors to a select group of artists to showcase their work in a similar approach to an artist’s “studio sale”. Like a traditional studio sale, the Summer Studio Series gives artists the opportunity to showcase unusual works that have slipped through the cracks between gallery exhibits and brand new works fresh off the easel.
During the course of the series, artists will bring work directly from their studios to the gallery and display it in a mock ‘studio style’ for three days. They will host their own ‘studio sale’ event during this period. Artists will be encouraged to collaborate with other artists and regular gallery goers, create work at the gallery, and develop interactive ‘work-in-progress’ projects.
The gallery will choose works from each display to be placed aside from the sale. At the end of the Summer Studio Series, these reserved works will be featured in a silent auction and group exhibit.
