> DESCRIPTION

This solo show in Hollywood is titled “Judgment Day” If God created mankind in his own image, wouldn’t man create machines in His? In Jason’s newest line, “Mechanical Christ”, each sculpture depicts different aspects of technology becoming Christ-like. Technology out of our control to the point of our own self-destruction, our own “Judgment Day”, brought not by the hand of God, but by the greedy hands of men and women. Both religion and technology hold a power over us all. We live in a world full of so much potential for great technological success, as well as disastrous failure. Our reliance on machines for everyday life is delicate and flawed. Most of us don't even realize this until something is broken or down. Ever lose the Internet for a day or two at home or lose your iphone? Feels strange doesn’t it, like a part of you is missing? Thirty years ago, the internet did not even exist. Now, almost no one can seem to survive in the US without it. What will the future of technologies like the internet hold for us? This and other questions are explored in Jason’s work which can be seen in his upcoming gallery show on June 11th 2011 at:
