THE FOURTH ANNUAL INCOGNITO

BENEFIT EXHIBITION AND ART SALE

SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2008, 7 to 9:30 P.M.

One of the most highly anticipated art events in Southern California returns on Saturday, May 3, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., when the Santa Monica Museum of Art hosts its fourth annual INCOGNITO, a unique exhibition and art sale of works in an 8" x 10" format, created by hundreds of acclaimed artists from Los Angeles and across the globe. All the works in INCOGNITO are on sale for $300 each, and signed on the back. "Trust Your Instincts" to guide your selections, as artist identities are revealed only after purchase.

INCOGNITO reflects the valiant spirit of revelation and exploration that inspires SMMoA's exhibitions, education, and outreach programs. Proceeds directly support the Museum, which this year celebrates two decades of creative achievement. The logo for INCOGNITO 2008 is designed by renowned artist Barbara Kruger.

The INCOGNITO exhibition and art sale is accompanied by a festive reception, featuring music by DJ Eddie Ruscha, Food by Lene, and a wide range of libations.

There are a variety of INCOGNITO special packages and ticket levels from which to choose, including the popular Benefactor package that allows the purchaser to view the works in advance of the official exhibition and sale. This one-hour preview is on Wednesday, April 30 from 7 to 8 p.m.

Early purchase is recommended as INCOGNITO tickets are limited. Tickets may be purchased until noon on May 2, after which they may only be bought at the door on the evening of May 3. To order, please call 310 586-6488. All ticket purchases are non-refundable. All tickets (and artwork vouchers, where applicable), will be held at Will Call at the Museum on the evening of the event.

On Sunday, May 4, there is a second opportunity to purchase INCOGNITO artworks. The exhibition and art sale continues from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; admission is free; all the guidelines of the May 3 event apply; there is no reception.
