Beyond Field: A Guide Through Practice and Discipline
Curated By: Jenny Yurshansky

This animate field guide leads you through the wild and woolly frontiers of the art world where the featured artists and cultural practitioners investigate, utilize, and integrate strategies, research, and topics that lie beyond traditional art practice.  These intrepid souls will navigate as we traverse the territories of tactical magic, island nation overlords, penitentiaries, miniature models, chimerical remains, and weirdo think tanks!  Please take a seat and join us on the adventure.

Revolutionary Breakthroughs in Extra-Sensory Perception
The Center for Tactical Magic's collaborative efforts have involved private investigators, magicians, ninjas, hypnotists, biologists, artists, and various activist organizations. Through a combination of disparate arts the CTM creates projects that trespass across the borders of art, design, performance, and community engagement. Cultivating mirth and mystery in all four hemispheres, the CTM frequently infiltrates multiple spheres of influence (social, cultural, and political) with notions of "responsible citizenship through creative action."

Parking is $2/hour or $7/day in the Student Center Parking Structure on Pereira Road at the corner of West Peltason Dr.

This series has been made possible with generous support from the Bren Foundation, The Orange County Community Foundation, Doreen Marshall, and an anonymous donor.
