Artists from the Santa Fe Art Colony (SFAC) will open their studios to the public on Saturday, May 14 for their 22nd consecutive studio tour. The day of programming from 2-10pm will start-off with the studio tour from 2-6pm of over twenty-five artists, with refreshments available in the courtyard.
Artists participating include Lillian Abel, Lisa Adams, Julie Arnoff, Matt Aston, Mary Bonic, Sparky Campanella, Chuck Feesago, Casey Figueroa, James Galindo, Jett Jackson, Don Lewis, Gregory Martin, Peggy Nichols, Barney O’Brien, Elena Philips, Mark Romay, Sylvia Tidwell, Carlos Vargas, Mike Vegas, Tom Villa, Davyd Whaley, Alisa Yang and Malaika Zweig. This is Los Angeles’ longest running studio tour and provides a unique and intimate insight into the live/work studios of SFAC, showcasing various styles and mediums.
This year SFAC is featuring a panel discussion after the tour from 6-8pm titled To Live, Work, & Show in LA. Participants include Director Isabel Williams of the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles, Director of Sales Evelyn Pener of the Los Angeles Art Show, Director Greg Esser of Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Marisa Caichiolo Director at ADC Contemporary Art Gallery, artist Lisa Adams, and moderator Shana Nys Dambrot. The panel will address issues and opportunities geared toward the professional artist, such as gallery representation, the importance of art fairs, public art opportunities, non-profit organizations and more.
