The title of the exhibition Gold followed by an exclamation point (!) refers to the discovery of a treasure, an unexpected find made after an extended exploration. In particular gold is light, perfection, accomplishment and therefore often considered the image of the divine. Gold is the culminant point of the alchemist process and it expresses the deep implications that this vortex represents.
The show itself, of these symbols, attempts to experience them, embody clues and analogies that weave a specific system, individualizing a trace, a plot, a story. One returns to the narrative tense of “once upon a time…” that can also be expressed as “once upon a time again” because every tale and myth reinvents, reproduces anew the perpetual secrets of the world.
The different themes exhibited conjure a sense of being entrenched in a legend, in a timeless and mysterious world. The largest canvas presents itself as a whole, a comprehensive depiction of its idiosyncratic identity. The works of smaller dimensions are characters, small drawings and watercolors that are fragments of time, memories. The sculptures and objects are representative of garments or instruments from an alien world, containing music and sound as an illustrative echo of that dimension.
