Edgar Varela Fine Arts is pleased to present The Great Mess in Los Angeles, an exhibition of new works by Clemens Wolf.
This is
the artist's
first solo exhibition in Los Angeles.
The exhibit is co-curated by Gemma Sonego and hosted by Phantom Galleries L.A.
Born
in Vienna, Clemens Wolf has taken inspiration from his native city and
his travels to Berlin, Amsterdam, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
His latest large-scale paintings explore urban and post-industrial surroundings, obsolete factories, ruined classical buildings and forgotten city stages.
The
time erodes plastered surfaces reveling architectonic skeletons;
wounded structures haunt memories of war and destruction; fences open
to undeveloped and unexpected settings.
A contemporary expanse of scenery that depicts modern landscapes as a testament of the times and, evokes simultaneously a perception of permanence and a state of transition to his works.
