> DESCRIPTION

Urban, rural, real and imaged environments - artists, architects and city planners each have their own compelling perspectives on alternate landscapes. Part of LAAA's ongoing ArtSpeak series, the "FAT CITY" panel discussion will offer an august group the opportunity to illuminate and challenge our shared understandings of what landscape means in 2008. Artist Rebecca Lowry moderates a panel comprised of:  Mary Morton, Associate Curator of Painting, Getty Museum, Gunnar Hand, AICP Sr. Regional Planner, LA County Dept. of Regional Planning, Kara Bartelt and Michael Chung; architects ‘Lettuce', and Steve Roden, a sound and visual artist.
