> DESCRIPTION
For some, the idea of "art" and "Tijuana" stops with a Velvet Elvis. For others, the city is a new hub of postmodernism. What is the real story of Tijuana's artistic tradition? What does it mean to make art in the US-Mexico border's biggest metropolis? UCSD art historian Roberto Tejada will lead a discussion with three innovative thinkers who relate to Tijuana and the border in very different ways: photographer Yvonne Venegas, architect and theorist Teddy Cruz, and Heriberto Yepez, author of Here is Tijuana!, poet, and professor of philosophy at the Autonomous University of Baja, California.
