> DESCRIPTION
We are pleased to present Megan Williams in her third solo exhibition at the Carl
Berg Gallery. Williams
continues to search out the roiling and idiosyncratic images she is known for,
with charcoal and pigment on canvas, paper and objects. The exhibition will
feature a mixture of paintings, works on paper as well as the first
installation she has made in several years.
Williams continues to create the volatile narratives she
has become so familiar for, but in this exhibition she has also integrated this
movement into an installational work. This new piece includes both drawing and
sculptural elements that are combined to form a free flowing artwork that
explodes into the space of the viewer.
Williams' work over the last few years has tapered from
its very aggressive stance to a more melancholic and perhaps introspective approach.
In this exhibition Williams has combined elements of her earlier more
aggressive style with her more current contemplative approach providing for a
dynamic interaction.
