A rich resource for the artist, the collector, the curator and the art lover.
For its inaugural exhibition, Cerasoli Gallery offers “Fresh: Gallery Selections 2008.” “Fresh” will include work from gallery-represented artists Michele Carlson, Ryan Kapp, Joshua Krause, David O’Brien, Catherine Ryan, Theresa Sapergia, and Suzanne Sattler. In addition, Ria Brodell, Marco Cibola, Jennifer Davis, Jeff Eisenberg, David Foldvari, Dean Kessmann, Scott Meyers, Andy Mueller, Hilary Pecis, Andy J. Simmons, and Jill Simonsen were also chosen to contribute some of their innovative works to the inaugural show.
“Fresh” will include the figurative drawings of Canadian artist Theresa Sapergia, whose delicately rendered work looks to the human and animal forms as a means to relay empathy. Boston’s Ria Brodell’s drawings and paintings nicely bridge the gap between the trendy, urban/illustrative style and fine art, with its whimsical imaginary landscapes of creatures depicted with a grace and simplicity. The stylized drawings of California’s Michele Carlson carries a dynamic folklore-meets-Aubrey Beardsley aesthetic. Another local, Andy Mueller is an urban artist whose bold, brilliant photographs prove that street-influenced art certainly deserves its place in a fine art gallery setting. The rest of the work within “Fresh” continues in this vein, exposing work that is edgy yet approachable, and created with the refinement and consideration of truly fine art.
