> DESCRIPTION

This sixth biennial international juried exhibition features the ultimate in wearable art—jewelry, clothing and accessories—from around the world.

Thanks to the Internet, the jurors also come from around the world. Judging the fiber pieces are Glenys Mann of Australia, president of TAFTA; Sunita Patterson of the United States, editor of FiberARTS magazine, and Beatrijs Sterk of Germany, publisher of Textile Forum magazine and secretary general of the European Textile Network.

Jewelry entries are being selected by Arline Fisch of the United States, author of Textile Techniques in Metal; Charles Lewton-Brain of Canada, distinguished fellow of the Society of North American Goldsmiths, and Rebecca Brown-Thompson of New Zealand, co-author of Rebellious Beads.

Gabrielle, manager of The Artists’ Studio, the artists cooperative gift shop associated with the Palos Verdes Art Center, is exhibition curator

A total of $3,200 in awards will be presented during the opening reception from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, February 22.
