In his new paintings, Syprasoeuth reflects on memories and images of a vibrant culture filled with celebrations, traditional dances and festivities.  Figures and images fade in and out, and compositions are fragmented - as if pieces of the puzzle are missing, allowing the viewer to form their own visual conclusions.

Filled with complexity, patterns, vibrancy in nature, and an overall surface texture, Syprasoeuth’s painting surface appears weathered and worn.  The painted surface is transparent and enriched with sheets of collage, gold-leaf and gold pen, recalling the entanglement of memories and celebration.
