From capturing the cultur al survival of some of the most ancient peoples on the planet to creating s avvy strategies to get stories out there\, Caroline Bennett uses photograph y as a tool to shed light on social justice\, cultural and environmental th reats and survival\, and the human condition. Her work strives for a balanc e that is grounded in ethical photojournalism\, uniquely creative and found ed in truth and the dignity of the people represented. She seeks to empower actors working for the common good beyond providing access to high-impact visual storytelling with cutting-edge communication strategies\, and an inn ovative and practical sphere for implementing interactive advocacy journali sm that goes beyond elevating awareness and inspires action.

Caroline Be nnett has won several awards for her work on projects for local and interna tional NGOs\, the United Nations\, The New York Times\, Miami Herald\, The Wall Street Journal\, among others.  She is curr ently based between San Francisco and the Amazon region.

The Annenber g Space for Photography offers live programming through our IRIS Nights lec ture series\, a public program offered free of charge\, by online reservati on on a first-come\, first-served basis. The series brings to life the most current exhibit with presentations by exhibit featured photographers and o ther notable experts and guest artists. These programs give attendees uniqu e access to the artists in the intimate setting of the Photography Space.\n

Please note that our lectures tend to fill up quickly. Don't be disc ouraged if you are unable to get tickets through our online ticketing syste m. The standby list for each lecture begins at 5pm on the day of the event in person at the Photography Space. About 10 minutes prior to the start of the lecture\, we release any seats that have not been claimed by tickethold ers to our standby guests.

Thomas Lawson is an artist with a diverse\, project-dri ven output. His work has been shown at Metro Pictures\, New York\; Anthony Reynolds\, London\; and LA>\;<\;ART\, Los Angeles. Surveys of his work have been organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art\, San Diego\; the CCA \, Glasgow\; and the Battersea Arts Centre\, London. He has written extensi vely for various publications\, including Artforum\, Flash Art\, a nd Afterall. He is dean of the School of Art at CalArts.

Parking is available under the museum for a flat fee of $3 after 6PM.

Snowfall is a durational audio-visual performance that explores the hush ed stillness and isolation sometimes experienced during a snowstorm. Presen ted over 6 hours\, the audience is allowed to come and go as they please. T his affords the viewer a more personal experience with the piece\, which ex plores audience as a form of dispersal.
