The collagraph process utilizes collage\, intaglio and relie f techniques to create a textured plate from objects glued onto a rigid bac king.  Once the plate is created\, the artist adds ink to the surface and p rints it utilizing a press.

In this workshop\, printmaker Gabriela Martinez will introduce the collagraph technique and instruct students on m aking their own unique image.

\n

This workshop is a two-part w orkshop on June 13 &\; June 27\, 2009. Participants will build their plate in the first session and print their plate during the second s ession.

\n

Reservations are highly recommended.

\n

All materials are included\, though participants are encouraged to b ring any object they would like to include on the plate (please\, no metal or high-relief objects).
