Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects is pleased to pres ent new sculptures by Jedediah Caesar. \; Caesar accumulates a variety of materials and debris from his studio which he pours into card board boxe s and other containers that are then filled with clear or colored resin.&nb sp\; The resulting resin blocks are then cut into different shapes which ar e related through the patterns revealing in their polished surfaces. \; From more organic geode shaped sculptures the work has recently transition ed into geometrical forms and shapes. \; On view will be several new fl oor sculptures which are cut into rectangular slabs or short brick-like sha pes that can be stacked. \; The colors of these pieces range from white to raspberry pink to velvety black reflecting a kaleidoscopic arrangement of shapes and forms on their polished surfaces. \; Caesar’s sculptures live from the tension between inside and outside\, between surface and cont ent – they make the familiar look exotic and give common debris the aura of jewelry. \;
