CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS, PERFORMING ARTISTS, VISUAL ARTISTS, WRITERS, MUSICIANS, DANCERS, FILMMAKERS, ACTORS, DIRECTORS
Now in its 3rd cycle, collaborate:create is a process-driven residency that brings artists together across disciplines to create unfiltered new works in 3 weeks that center on a single socially relevant theme. Our mission is to create in the now because of the now, and we aim to uphold our social responsibility as artists by utilizing our forms of expression to address current issues in our society. The process culminates in a one-evening public exhibition.
This residency's theme is privacy.
This project is in residency at Theaterlab, 357 W. 36th St. We are looking for a group of 15-18 artists. Artists must be available for a potential interview slot on Thursday June 27th between 7-11pm. Additionally, artists MUST be able to attend all mandatory meeting dates, held Sundays:
- June 30th, 7-11pm
- July 7th, 6:30pm-11:30pm
- July 14th, 12pm-5pm
- July 21st, Exhibition (full day set-up, exhibition in evening)
Artists will have the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, use free and subsidized work space, and present their work to the public in a unique environment that fosters the audience-artist relationship.
