Chelsea Art Museum
Somewhat of an oddity in the center of the commercial art scene, the Chelsea Art Museum (CAM) occupies a mid-19th century three-story brick building on 22nd street. Its mission includes the collecting and exhibiting of lesser-known 20th and 21st century artists, as well as the presentation of art within a social context. With exhibitions on technology, the environment, war, and local cultural tendencies, CAM presents itself as a continuously relevant institution, oftentimes overlooked in the evermore over-populated scene.
