The Division Museum of Ceramics and Glassware Visible Storage Area Three May 16 – June 29, 2008 The relocation of The Division Museum of Ceramics and Glassware from Chinatown to West Chelsea for seven weeks allows for this otherwise obscure operation to gain visibility and showcase its quirkiness in all its glory. The museum’s collection is culled from donations of chipped, shattered, or cracked everyday ceramics and glassware. The concept of this charming compilation of deformities was conceived in 2004 by artist and curator Barb Choit and has been growing rapidly since. It is the founder’s ultimate objective to provide future archeologists and historians with an intricate view of our daily life through the flawed state of our objects.
