As many already know, I am curating the all photography group show, "F8 and be there," at Cannery Row Studios in Redondo Beach.      We had an interesting experience while putting the placards by the art tonight (Fri, Aug 2). A woman asked if she could look at the gallery and bought the first piece of art she laid her eyes on. It is one of the 16 photographs from the India Series by Hill Street Studios photographers Lawrence Manning.      If you have time tomorrow, Saturday... [more]

This past Friday I was fortunate enough to visit that amazing new show "Illumanotic" of visionary artist Android Jones. This show runs from March 4 through May 4, 2010 at the imaginative 99 High Art Collective on the quaint Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice Beach. The exhibit is mostly composed of electric dependent works of art. These are glass images with light boxes projected through the back. Through his amazing use of color and light, Jones creates extraordinary images which play on your psyche. Jo... [more]

Kimberberryliquidenviro A must see
by
Lisa Adams, Kimber Berry, Hollis Cooper, Rebecca Niederlander at Riverside Art Museum November 21st, 2009 - February 20th, 2010
Posted 12/4/09

One of the best shows I have seen all year.  It all works great together.  But one artist shines out drastically, completely fresh and new.  The artist Kimber Berry has a paint installation up in the Riverside Art Museum that you essentially walk into.  You actually experience the paint versus just scanning it. What a great abstract expressionist painter she is.  The evolved extension of Pollock with a feminine palette capturing the current colors of the times, something the old master wo... [more]

Liquiddetail2 Simply Great!

Kimber Berry at Phantom Galleries LA - August 22nd, 2009 - September 12th, 2009

All I can say is … WOW!!!  Finally, a painter doing something more cutting edge.  They are big; they are beautiful; impossible to get bored while scanning these works.  And what the heck is going on in the corner? … Looks like a painting blending right into the wall – never seen that before, so in my book - a must see.  She is definitely a true artist and not a one trick pony. Like any master painter, they can really mix it up…and she does a great job in doing so.  If you are in LA... [more]
