Björk's Breakup Album
1/27/15 Posted 1/27/15

New Björk album. Vulnicura. Her ninth proper. Two main strands of conversation emerge in the public and media reaction: 1. Didn't she (and her team) deal with the whole album leak/rush release thing so much better than Madonna (and her team) did the other month? 2. It's a breakup album, isn't it? For an artist so adept at dealing with latest innovations in technology, it's perhaps interesting that the central lyrical theme of Vulnicura, chronicling her break-up with long term partner Matthew Barney, is... Sound_promo4x4_v2_22 Sound! at Open
Andy Carey at {open} > Los Angeles
May 31st, 2008 - July 20th, 2008
Posted 6/4/08

Known for his iconic portrayals of Louise Brooks and 60's legends, Andy Carey has a style that is as unique as his subjects. Mixing wood discs and oil on canvas, he creates another dimension, forcing the eye not only to intepret shadows and colors, but space and depth as well. Andy's latest exhibit, Sound! adds (you guessed it) sound, to the mix. A modern-day mod (redundant, I know), his pieces are like love notes to the tune of the psychadelic sixties.
