Bombay Art Gallery was established in 2003 with the vision of promoting 'classical-contemporary' Indian art and a unique group of young emerging artists. Since its founding, Bombay Art Gallery has curated a series of shows that highlight the overtly contemporary yet classically-inspired work of talented artists in the mediums of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and installation. The innovative thought-processes and dynamic work of these artists enrich India's contemporary art scene on the local, national and international levels. Bombay Art Gallery is pleased to support and promote these artists at its gallery space in Mumbai and further afield.
Bombay Art Gallery is proud to be one of Mumbai's leading galleries and is particularly active with a curatorial program of one or two exhibitions each month. The shows are widely attended by Mumbai's vibrant community of collectors, artists, journalists, fellow gallerists, and international visitors. Artists working with Bombay Art Gallery find that the Gallery is committed to helping them develop their art careers, through ongoing mentorship and discussion, future sponsorship at residencies and art camps, and introduction at the national and international levels. Bombay Art Gallery participates in international art fairs with the objective of bringing the work of the artists it represents to an international clientele and expanding global awareness of contemporary Indian art.
Bombay Art Gallery is located in Colaba, Mumbai's up-and-coming gallery district. The Gallery is in close proximity to other leading art galleries and is pleased to participate in the ongoing discourse by Mumbai's artists, galleries, collectors and journalists. Bombay Art Gallery is operated by a team of Mr. Aditya Ruia, Mr. C.R. Prabhu (Administrator) and consulting curators, such as Ranjit Hoskote and Gitanjali Dang.
