Vivek Radhakrishnan studied design under the direction of Hella Jongerius, from the Design Academy Eindhoven, Netherlands. Jongerius’ craftsman-like ideology, combined with his own keen interest in industrial production, has defined Vivek’s work and approach to design till date.
After his graduation, Vivek moved to New York City where he worked in the field of furniture design, visual merchandising and retail environments for a large array of clients.
In 2004, Vivek and his wife Namrata returned home to Bangalore to set up Kynkyny. The company has two facets, Kynkyny Art, a gallery for contemporary Indian art, and Kynkyny Home, a boutique for exclusive home furniture and products.
Kynkyny has its own design studio and manufacturing unit, where Vivek designs and produces Kynkyny Home’s product line for the rapidly growing Indian market.
After having worked in various fields of design with many different materials, Vivek now specializes in solid wood, the main material used in the production of Kynkyny Home’s product line.
He is also involved in various collaborative projects with European designers, helping them realize and industrialize design concepts into products.
