Rimoux defines himself as a sculptor of light or a tailor of shadow. This polyvalent artist, who is a photographer, a sculptor, and designer at the same time, is also a new technologies engineer, well known for his lightscapes of cities and monuments. His artistic work focuses on cinematic films that, for him, crystallize his focus on the revelatory nature of light – the primary subject of his work.
A long time admirer of Satyajit Ray, Rimoux is fascinated by Indian cinema. Compared to that of European cultures, he believes cinema is an effective means of conveying culture because of its impact on society. Today, he is known as one of the principle artists diffusing an image of India in the art world.
Patrick Rimoux and his team are currently working on a project of highlighting the European Ring in Brussels. He has made his last highlighting in Metz for the Georges Pompidou Center with the architect Nicolas Michelin.
