India International Art Fair, 2010 is being organized by Humree and Company ,in the world renowned centre, at Pragati Maidan New Delhi. The art fair will be held in the air conditioned Hall No 14 from 9th -12th September,2010.
Coming close on the heels of the Commonwealth Games 2010 in October, this exhibition will showcase the artwork of Indian and foreign artists.Indian art is being noticed and appreciated in the art circles of the world and this exhibition will add to the interest and excitement that the Indian art field is generating. The buzz of the Commonwealth Games is already in the air and this art fair just a month before the Commonwealth Games will be a not to be missed event for all the art lovers and the general public alike.
A first for an art exhibit, India International Art Fair,2010 will be sponsoring artists for booth space. The categories that an artist can apply for include paintings, sculpture, photography, art films, print and so on. An artist is free to apply in more than one category provided he or she is practicing in the applied category. Foreign artists can also apply for sponsorship. Senior artists and emerging artists will have different categories. Jury will adjudge the applications. The work and not the artists credentials will decide who gets the sponsorship, this will ensure fairness and a level playing field.
India International Art Fair,2010 also introduces a new concept called the Art Walk. Spread on the mezzanine floor, it will showcase an artist’s journey in a time line fashion. A space of 40 feet in width x 12 feet in height or more will be available for an artist to exhibit their works. 12 Art Walks will be available for artists and galleries to choose from. The adjoining Art Walk space can also be utilized to exhibit sculptures.
The Art Walk being on the mezzanine floor gives a panoramic view of the other art galleries on the ground floor. The Art Walk can be booked by artists and galleries alike. These exhibits on the Art Walk will take a visitor through the various phases that influenced the artists work. It will be a glimpse of history and the present time, intertwined in colors and expressed in various media. An essence of all the hard work and imagination will be on display in the Art Walk. It will sum up the journey traversed and offer hints of the artists future endeavors.
Art Galleries benefit from the absence of a processing fee and only need to pay the applicable rental fee. Given the perfect timing, the fair is being held just a few weeks before the Commonwealth Games a lot of visitors will throng to the art fair to see the art of India and the world, right here in Delhi.
