We've got tickets to SCOPE Art Show and VOLTA 10 Basel opening this week. We'll be doing the giveaway on Twitter. All you have to do is follow us and look out for the giveaway tweet, and we'll hook you up with tickets to two amazing contemporary art fairs! Details on the fairs below:
VOLTA is Basel's renowned platform for presenting the vision of contemporary art galleries of global prestige whose artists represent new and relevant positions for curators and collectors alike.
Conceived to bridge a gap between Basel's pre-existing fairs, VOLTA showcases galleries – whether young or mature – that choose to work with the most exciting emerging artists. These galleries must keep deeply meaningful connections with their artists and follow them throughout their careers. In turn, select galleries exhibit in the airy rotunda surroundings of Basel's Markthalle, elevating their own platforms for an experience mutually beneficial to fair visitors and the galleries alike.
Encouraged by the response of collectors and curators during the last editions solo presentations and carefully considered booths, a much stronger emphasis for VOLTA will be placed on single artist presentations or on booth concepts that bring the work of two artists into dialogue with one another, thus giving emphasis to artists by allowing for a greater understanding of different individual practices.
VOLTA was co-founded by three dealers, Kavi Gupta, Friedrich Loock and Uli Voges, and art critic Amanda Coulson in 2005.
Celebrating eight years in Basel, SCOPE Art Show returns to its pioneering location in Klybeckquai, the new art and culture center of Basel. A wellspring of cultural development for Basel Stadt, SCOPE was the first in what is now a series of extraordinary happenings centered on the New Arts District on the Rhine.
In proximity to SCOPE Basel’s 4,000m2 pavilion, will be a large-scale presentation of Jean Tinguely’s brilliant musical performance “Cyclope” along with several restaurants, bars, and clubs orchestrating “pop-ups” along the once-industrial riverfront. SCOPE is delighted to be at the center of this focused cultural moment in Basel.
SCOPE Basel will welcome 70 International Exhibitors alongside 10 Breeder Program Galleries, offering a view of the contemporary art market available nowhere else. Exhibitors hail from four continents and over twenty countries including China, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Brazil, Italy, Iran, Russia, Turkey, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, UK, Spain, and Canada.
